The latest John Green adaptation to hit the big screen has been on a full-speed-ahead social media campaign. To prep fans for the latest Paper Towns trailer, Green and stars Cara Delevingne and Nat Wolff teased its release with Instagram videos counting down the days to its debut during Tuesday’s Pretty Little Liars premiere.
While nothing terribly groundbreaking can be seen in the new trailer, it did give the story a more lighthearted spin. Fans get to see Wolff’s comedic side, the funny relationship between his closest friends Radar (Justice Smith) and Ben (Austin Starling) and, of course, his ongoing obsession with Margot Roth Spiegelman. While Smith’s character cracks some jokes in the latest scenes, a key element of the book is missing: his parent’s black Santa collection, which readers are itching to see.
The movie hits theaters July 24.
