Marlon Wayans is not the first to attempt a Fifty Shades of Grey parody (see, for instance, Vanessa Bayer’s Audi video), but he’s probably the first to make it into a whole feature film. He’ll star in Fifty Shades of Black, to be released in early 2016.
The project reunites Wayans with writer Rick Alvarez and director Michael Tiddes, his team from the Haunted House movies, and production will begin soon, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
“Sex and comedy go hand-in-hand and I’m looking forward to having fun with this project,” said Wayans. “It’s amazing when a film of this caliber comes along begging to be made fun of.”
