When Joan Rivers wasn’t included in the Oscars’ ‘In Memoriam’ tribute, fans immediately expressed their thoughts on the omission on social media. Many were angry with the Academy. However, Joan’s daughter, Melissa Rivers, doesn’t seem to share that anger.
Following Sunday’s show, Melissa has posted a statement on her mother’s official Facebook page. It reads, “It would have been nice, especially considering the impact she had on the awards season, but Cooper and I have been overwhelmed with support and love over my mom’s passing and we choose to focus on that.” Cooper is Melissa’s son.
The rest of the world can find Joan Rivers on the Academy’s website.
