Last Week Tonight host John Oliver won’t be Jon Stewart’s successor on The Daily Show because HBO just renewed his show for two more seasons. But on The Tonight Show Tuesday, the former Daily Show correspondent offered a very helpful suggestion for an even better replacement: a hologram of Jon Stewart.
“How about Hologram Jon? Because he’s said almost every word in the English language,” the comedian said. “If you can put Oliver Reed in a film that he wasn’t in, surely you can just have Hologram Jon, like Tupac, hosting the show every night.”
Oliver also made sure to acknowledge that he truly owes everything to Jon Stewart. “I could fact check how much I owe him, and it would be everything.”
