Poor Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) doesn’t get much airtime in the first part of Mockingjay—and when the film ends on its massive cliffhanger, he’s in a bad, Katniss-hating state. In this deleted scene from the film, though, we see Peeta in a (somewhat) better state—meeting with President Snow, still defiant. It wasn’t easy to get to the clip, though—as BuzzFeed details, the clip was released via a complicated process that involved both binary code and a Twitter hashtag, #UnlockMockingjay.
“I’m sick of the blood, and from what I’ve seen it’s more on the hands of the Peacekeepers,” Peeta tells Donald Sutherland’s villain in the clip.
Snow explains to Peeta what he needs of him: “The sooner these uprisings are put to rest,” he says, “the sooner you’ll see your home again.” Peeta asks, “So you’re asking me to be what, sir, your voice of reason?”
Snow replies menacingly: “You’ve understood everything but one small detail. I’m not asking.”
