Netflix‘s latest series may be set at a sun-drenched resort, but it sure does look dark.
Kyle Chandler stars as John Rayburn, who is a detective with the Monroe County Sheriff’s office in the Florida Keys when his older brother Danny (Ben Mendelsohn) returns and throws the Rayburns’ lives into disarray.
“Sometimes you know something’s coming,” John says over the increasingly uneasy trailer. “You feel it in the air. You don’t sleep at night. The voice in your head’s telling you that something’s going to go terribly wrong, and there’s nothing you can do to stop it.”
For his part, prodigal son Danny seems bent on reminding his sibling that a happy family is a family poised for a fall: “Your life’s not always going to be this perfect, you know? Trust me, things happen to people.”
By the end of the trailer, it seems like Danny’s warning may have come true as John says, “Please don’t judge us. We’re not bad people, but we did a bad thing.”
Also starring Sissy Spacek, Sam Shepard, Linda Cardellini and Norbert Leo Butz, Bloodline is from Damages creators Todd A. Kessler, Daniel Zelman and Glenn Kessler.
The series premieres March 20 on Netflix.
