Saturday Night Live has done it again. One week after a spot-on mocking of the New England Patriots’ Deflategate scandal, SNL took on the Seattle Seahawks’eventful Super Bowl media week proceedings.
With Kenan Thompson playing running back Marshawn Lynch, Jay Pharoah portraying cornerback Richard Sherman and Taran Killam spoofing head coach Pete Carroll, SNL’s cold open was bound to be entertaining from the start.
“Shoutout to Skittles,” Thompson’s Lynch says of the running back’s favorite candy, which managed to break his media silence this week. “Also, big ups to hats and glasses.”
Super Bowl XLIX kicks off Sunday at 6:30 p.m. ET on NBC. The Patriots and Seahawks will meet in University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Ariz.
