Macklemore‘s going to be a dad!
The “Same Love” rapper confirmed the happy news with a moving video he and fiancée Tricia Davis posted on Twitter Saturday.
“We wanted to share the news with you ourselves … Love Ben & Tricia,” Macklemore (née Ben Haggerty) wrote alongside the video, which notes the baby is due in May.
The sweet clip begins with the pair hearing their baby’s heartbeat for the first time, then jumps to shots of them in a sonogram room together, sharing some kisses and holding hands as a family member looks on.
Macklemore, 31, explained they decided to share the news after pregnancy whispers began floating around online.
“Today the media speculated about some big news in our life, so we decided to share it with you ourselves,” reads the opening text of the clip — which was co-produced by Macklemore’s creative partner Ryan Lewis.
The rapper popped the question to longtime girlfriend Davis (who’s currently his road manager) back in early 2013.
The New York Post‘s Page Six was first to report the news.
