A n iconic part of the Christmas season is sending and receiving holiday cards, and politicians are no exception. Here are cards from six politicians this year, ranging from the standard posed shot to the vice president plunging into whitewater rapids.
This card from the Obama family is an invitation to their holiday reception at the White House. Dogs in the snow are always crowd-pleasers, especially what we assume is the First Dog himself, Bo-bama. The Biden family took an alternate route on the Christmas card this year, opting for an action shot instead of a formal family photo. Sen. Ted Cruz and his family went with the tasteful portrait for their holiday card, quoting Psalm 13:5 on the inside of the note. Rep. John Dingell and his wife used the text of their holiday e-card to pay tribute to Maya Angelou, who died in May. Ohio Gov. John Kasich and his family festively color-coordinated their card, from the red border to his wife's bracelet, the chair and his daughter's dress. Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal's family went with a laid-back vibe on their card, from his wife's relaxed posed to the caption, which says it all: "Oh what fun."
