Not everyone likes a happy Christmas song — not Idina Menzel, not Liz Phair. But the man who has made a career of playing ne’er-do-well characters–from Dracula to Bond villain to Saruman in The Lord of the Rings films—legendary 92-year-old actor Christopher Lee, takes not-so-jolly Christmas music to a whole new level.
Lee’s “Darkest Carols, Faithful Sing,” puts a heavy-metal twist on “Hark! The Herald Angels Sing,” and follows up last year’s “Jingle Hell,” which hit No. 18 on a Billboard chart, E! reports. His heavy metal Christmas singles have been an annual tradition since 2012.
“I do not know how long I am going to be around, so every day is a celebration and I want to share it with my fans,” he said. The song is available on iTunes.
