Johnny Madrid, Lauren Brown, Olwen Williams and Mr. Perry. Those names probably don’t mean anything to you, which is why celebrities Tom Hanks, Natalie Portman, Daniel Craig and Jude Law reportedly used them as aliases.
A list of innocuous-sounding names reportedly used by Hollywood stars to check into hotels and make purchases was leaked to the website Fusion, allegedly by hackers who gained access to computer systems at Sony Pictures Entertainment.
Some of the actors in the leaked list have adopted seemingly random names like Neil Deep (Tobey Maguire) and Ava Harper (Debra Messing), while others draw on real life — like Clive Owen, who apparently uses his wife Sarah-Jane Fenton’s last name to become Robert Fenton.
Craig’s alias is reportedly a tribute to his grandfather Olwyn Williams, and Hanks’ may be a character from 1960s Western Lancer.
Taye Diggs and Ice Cube don’t use aliases, according to the leaked documents, just simply their lesser-known real names, Scott Diggs and O’Shea Jackson respectively, while Jessica Alba (Cash Money) and Rob Schneider (Nazzo, i.e. “not so,” Good) decided to get clever.
The list is included in the latest leak from hackers Guardians of Peace, a group that has been linked with North Korea and previously released the social security numbers of stars like Sylvester Stallone and Judd Apatow. The new leaks also include the email addresses and phone numbers of cast, crew and other staff on several film productions.
