Bollywood Actress Slapped in Face for ‘Wearing Short Dress’

A Bollywood actress was slapped in the face during a taping of a reality show by a male audience member, reportedly for wearing a short dress.

Gauhar Khan, a model and reality TV star as well as an actress, was assaulted on Sunday during the shooting of the final episode of the singing competition India’s Raw Star in Mumbai, the BBC reports.

According to police, the man said that “being a Muslim woman, she should not have worn such a short dress.” He had been taunting her before the altercation.

The man was accosted by security and arrested. He was due in court Monday.
