The O.C. vet Adam Brody is heading back to TV — or, at least, to DirecTV.
The 34-year-old actor will star opposite Lisa Joyce (The Messenger) in Billy & Billie, a 10-episode DirectTV drama about step-siblings who fall in love, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Billy and Billie (obviously) face a great deal of scrutiny from their friends and family as they try to navigate their complicated relationship.
After capturing the hearts of many a teen with his sarcastic charm on The O.C., Brody struggled to find a role as iconic as Seth Cohen. He got a bit part in Mr. and Mrs. Smith, but was out shined by Brangelina’s budding romance; since then, he’s jumped from cringe-worthy movies like Jennifer’s Body to guest roles on comedies like New Girl and The League. It looked like he might get another go at his own show with Amazon’s The Cosmopolitans, but that has yet to be ordered to series.
Now, Brody is getting a chance to be a TV star again. Plus, he has a movie coming out on VOD with wife (and former Gossip Girl star) Leighton Meester this weekend. Way to go, Cohen.
