The Dallas nurse who contracted Ebola and recovered from the deadly disease was reunited with her dog Saturday.
Nina Pham was diagnosed with Ebola after caring for Thomas Eric Duncan, the first patient diagnosed on U.S. soil, who later died. Her dog, Bentley, had been quarantined at an abandoned Navy base in Dallas in early October after Pham became ill.
The dog tested negative after his 21-day quarantine, which is the incubation period for Ebola, the NBC Dallas affiliate reports.
“I was fearful, because I didn’t know what would happen to my best friend,” Pham said Saturday after the tearful reunion.
