Traditionally, a man with a sign by the side of the road is asking for spare change or offering “Free Hugs.” But this week, Kevin Gray, a father of three, was holding up a sign asking for a kidney donor on the side of a highway in Newberg, Oregon, UPI reports.
Gray found out that he would need a transplant last year and has to undergo dialysis every night. Since there’s a three-year transplant wait list, Gray has become proactive in not only looking for a live donor (preferably with an A or O blood type) but also promoting the Facebook page of Are You My Type, which raises awareness about kidney donations.
