Saturday Night Live has tapped the show’s head writer to replace Seth Meyers on Weekend Update, The Hollywood Reporter reports.
Colin Jost will join Cecily Strong as co-anchor of the famed segment starting March 1, filling the void left by Meyers’ departure to Late Night.
Jost has been head writer at SNL since 2012 and a staff writer since 2005. (Meyers had the gig before him.) He has won three WGA awards, a Peabody Award and has been nominated for eight Emmys while working on the show. Jost came to SNL from the Harvard Lampoon.
