Macaulay Culkin’s band Pizza Underground didn’t exactly receive a welcome reception from an audience in Nottingham at the Dot to Dot Festival. The band, which is a pizza-themed Velvet Underground cover band, only performed a few songs—including a version of Lou Reed’s “Perfect Day,” called “Pizza Day”—before the audience booed and began to throw beer at the stage.
Frontman Culkin remained calm as the crowd tossed pints of beer at the band, the Nottingham Post reports. “Why are you throwing those? I’d rather drink them,” Culkin asked the beer-throwing audience. But it wasn’t long before he announced, “That’s the end of the show. Goodnight.”
“After barnstorming sets at both Dot To Dot Manchester and Dot To Dot Bristol, it’s such a shame that some members of the crowd had to ruin what was set to be an excellent show,” the festival’s organizers said in a statement. A sentiment echoed by the band themselves.”
The band later tweeted:
