In an interview with [_Vanity Fair_](http://www.vanityfair.com/hollywood/2017/07/angelina-jolie-cover-story) that focuses on Jolie’s life in the year since [she filed for from divorce from Brad Pitt in September 2016](http://time.com/4501189/angelina-jolie-brad-pitt-divorce/), citing “the health of the family,” the actor revealed that even when “things became ‘difficult,'” her children have “been very brave.” When asked when they were brave, Jolie noted laconically that it was “in times they needed to be.” She later stated that the family was still recovering from the split. “We’re all just healing from the events that led to the filing,” she said. “They’re not healing from divorce. They’re healing from some . . . from life, from things in life.” The divorce came after two years of marriage and a 12-year relationship for Jolie and Pitt; Jolie also disclosed in the interview that she’s suffered from hypertension and Bell’s Palsy in the past year. ## Transcript Angelina Jolie revealed how she's moving forward from her split from husband, Brad Pitt, in an interview with Good Morning America's George Stephanopoulos this morning. When she filed for divorce, Jolie said it was for the health of the family. And when Stephanopoulos asked her if the family is healthier now, here's how she responded. We are focusing on the health of our family. And so we will be. We will be stronger. When we come out of this because that's what we're determined to do as a family. Stefanopolis also brought up that Jolie had previously refered to Pitt as a quote, wonderful father and part of the family. And asked her if she still thought that way. Jolie responded, of course And went on to say, we will always be a family. Jolie and her six children are in Cambodia promoting her new Netflix film, First They Killed My Father, which stars all Cambodia actors. The movie was a family affair, Jolie's children Maddox and Pax worked on the film with her.
