With just 23 days left in the year, Taylor Swift has released her first material as a vocalist of 2016\. Late Thursday night the star released “I Don’t Wanna Live Forever,” a collaboration with former One Directioner and fellow pop star Zayn Malik. The two recorded the sultry track for the _Fifty Shades of Grey_ sequel, _Fifty Shades Darker_.

Swift first revealed the track on her social media channels, debuting the single art and a clip from the song [on Instagram](https://www.instagram.com/p/BNyFYpMBNOU/?taken-by=taylorswift).

Zayn [posted a photo](https://www.instagram.com/p/BNyEx%5FrA5SC/?taken-by=zayn) with Swift and gave it a simple caption: “#IDontWannaLiveForever.” The full track is available for purchase [on iTunes](https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/i-dont-wanna-live-forever/id1184694375?i=1184694486).

The soundtrack for the first film in the series also featured A-list musical talent: Ellie Goulding’s “Love Me Like You Do” and the Weeknd’s Grammy-nominated “Earned It” were featured alongside a remix of Beyoncé’s “Crazy In Love” and contributions from Jessie Ware, Sia, the Rolling Stones, and more.

While Swift hasn’t released any of her own songs since dropping _1989_ in October 2014, the 26-year-old’s songwriting skills have hardly been hiding. In July[ it was revealed](http://www.ew.com/article/2016/07/13/taylor-swift-wrote-calvin-harris-single) that she penned her ex-beau Calvin Harris’ smash “This Is What You Came For” and just last month Little Big Town [told fans](http://www.ew.com/article/2016/11/01/little-big-town-taylor-swift-better-man) that the 26-year-old wrote their new single “Better Man.”
