Taylor Swift and Zayn Debut New Fifty Shades Darker Theme Song

2 minute read

With just 23 days left in the year, Taylor Swift has released her first material as a vocalist of 2016. Late Thursday night the star released “I Don’t Wanna Live Forever,” a collaboration with former One Directioner and fellow pop star Zayn Malik. The two recorded the sultry track for the Fifty Shades of Grey sequel, Fifty Shades Darker.

Swift first revealed the track on her social media channels, debuting the single art and a clip from the song on Instagram.

Zayn posted a photo with Swift and gave it a simple caption: “#IDontWannaLiveForever.” The full track is available for purchase on iTunes.

The soundtrack for the first film in the series also featured A-list musical talent: Ellie Goulding’s “Love Me Like You Do” and the Weeknd’s Grammy-nominated “Earned It” were featured alongside a remix of Beyoncé’s “Crazy In Love” and contributions from Jessie Ware, Sia, the Rolling Stones, and more.

While Swift hasn’t released any of her own songs since dropping 1989 in October 2014, the 26-year-old’s songwriting skills have hardly been hiding. In July it was revealed that she penned her ex-beau Calvin Harris’ smash “This Is What You Came For” and just last month Little Big Town told fans that the 26-year-old wrote their new single “Better Man.”

Zayn’s most recent release, Mind of Mine, came last March.

A new trailer for Fifty Shades Darker — which features Miguel’s cover of Bey’s “Crazy In Love” — debuted Wednesday. Fifty Shades Darker is slated to hit theaters February 10, 2017.
