The three Baudelaire children are thrust into a perilous life after their parents die in a fire in the first full trailer for Netflix and Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events, based on the original book series by Daniel Handler.
In the trailer released on Thursday, Violet (Malina Weissman), Klaus (Louis Hynes) and Sunny (Presley Smith) are sent to live with their new guardian Count Olaf (Neil Patrick Harris) following their parents’ death, only to realize he is after their fortune—and will stop at nothing to get it. Not to be defeated easily, the Baudelaire siblings embark on finding the secrets their parents left behind.
The dark, funny series hits Netflix on Jan. 13, 2017.
