Stiller says he credits early detection with his positive outcome. ## Transcript On the Howard Stern Show, Tuesday morning, Ben Stiller revealed that he was diagnosed with prostate cancer two years ago, and said that a simple blood test at his annual physical saved his life. Stiller, who before didn't have a history of prostate cancer in his family, said he'd been administered a test known as prostate- specific antigen since the age of 46. When the doctors administered the first test, his levels were high. So six months later it was readministered and the numbers had gone up even more. Following a series of more invasive tests, including a biopsy, it was determined he had prostate cancer, but it was detected early enough for treatment. Stiller then had to wait six weeks to recover after the biopsy exam, long before the removal of his prostate. During that time, Stiller reached out to celebrities who had gone through similar experiences. But still kept the diagnosis hidden from the public.
