Kanye West’s Yeezy Season 4 presentation for Adidas Originals this New York Fashion Week was nothing short of dramatic. People in attendance reported that the standing models seemed to collapse and sit down because of the heat, while runway models struggled to walk in their shoes.
One model wearing thigh high boots required help from an audience member to finish her walk down the runway, while Amina Blue, another model, stopped mid-walk to remove her shoes before continuing her walk.
Blue explained the real reason why she removed her shoes at the Yeezy show. The sunny day and heat took its toll on Blue and her clear plastic heels were comfortable by her account, but prone to slipping when her feet started to sweat.
In an interview with The Cut, she elaborated. “They were comfortable, it was the heat from the sun,” she said. “When you’re wearing plastic shoes, your feet are going to sweat.”
Blue elaborated on her game time decision on the runway.
According to Blue, West was completely understanding about the situation.
