Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump landed in Mexico City on Wednesday for a meeting with Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto.
Trump will travel by helicopter to the presidential palace, avoiding highway gridlock and roadside protesters, the New York Times reported. The meeting will take place only hours before Trump gives a major speech in Arizona, clarifying his often-controversial stance on immigration.
The Mexican president has been one of Trump’s most vocal critics, and the billionaire confirmed in a tweet Tuesday that he accepted an invitation to take a meeting before his Arizona speech.
Trump has long called for building a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border, asserting that Mexico will pay for it.
