As disillusioning as it may be, the reality of television is that much of it is not real. And on Monday’s episode of Conan, Timothy Olyphant could no longer shoulder that burden.
During the third annual “Scrapisode” — a compilation of the talk show’s best outtakes — The Grinder actor made his stand, refusing to play along when Conan asked him to shoot an intro for a pre-taped performance by musical guest Sturgill Simpson. “I’m not doing it, Conan,” Olyphant shouts. “This is bulls—.”
However, the host maintains that he and fellow guest Jerrod Carmichael knew what they were getting themselves into. “Yeah just play along, c’mon, man,” O’Brien says. “TV’s a lie — you knew that coming in.”
