When Beyoncé’s mother, Tina Lawson, accepted Beyoncé’s award for the Coca-Cola Viewers’ Choice Award for “Formation” on her daughter’s behalf at Sunday night’s BET Awards because Bey had to leave early, she talked about the singer’s crazy schedule.
Quick rundown of Beyoncé’s responsibilities. After obliterating everything with a surprise performance of “Freedom,” with Kendrick Lamar at the awards show, Beyoncé had to fly to the U.K. for her scheduled performance Tuesday. Evidently, there was some confusion with the time difference, and according to Lawson, people have been accusing her of misrepresenting her daughter’s schedule. Being a top notch mom who gave birth to an actual queen, Beyoncé, she took to Instagram Tuesday to address the situation.
“I am hurt and disappointed because I know what kind of work, sacrifice, and personal money it took for her to do this show and support the BET Award show and to give her fans that did not get to attend the concert a piece of her show,” Knowles wrote. She also disclosed the details of Beyoncé’s schedule, adding that her daughter financed portions of expenses out of pocket, “(Who else would get three hours of sleep like that?) Book a huge private plane to carry your dancers and creative staff and choreographers road managers and pay for it out of your own pocket. Who does that?”
No one, Tina. Other moms, please return your world’s best mom mugs.
