Before Ryan Reynolds could get out of his seat to accept his award for Best Comedic Performance at the MTV Movie Awards Sunday night, the Deadpool actor was interrupted by a blast from the past: hip hop group Salt-N-Pepa serenading the audience with its 1993 hit “Shoop.” The song, which featured prominently on the Deadpool soundtrack, was brought to life by a gaggle of Deadpool look-alikes dancing raunchily across the stage in homage to Reynolds’ award-winning antihero.

Reynolds thanked Deadpool‘s steadfast fans for their devotion to the film, a 10-year passion project for him, before shouting out his wife, actress Blake Lively. “Everything I do is to make her laugh,” he said. “Especially the sex.”
Reynolds will have another shot at the award as the smirking “merc with a mouth,” as a Deadpool sequel is already in the works.
