See Celebrities Perform Dramatic Readings of Kanye West Tweets

1 minute read

There is no Academy Award for best tweets, but that didn’t stop some of Hollywood’s brightest stars from paying homage to Kanye West and his 140-character gems last Sunday, on the night of the 88th Oscars.

At the Vanity Fair Oscar Party, red-carpet correspondent Tyler Oakley called on the celebrity guests to perform their best dramatic readings of some of West’s most memorable tweets, and they were happy to oblige.

Whoopi Goldberg, for example, brought a hint of menace to the West classic “You may be talented, but you’re not Kanye West.”

Patrick Stewart, gravitas in full effect, intoned, “It’s a beautiful time. I love my friends. I love my family. I love people. The human race.”

And Emily Ratajkowski expertly channeled the frustration behind the famous lament, “I specifically ordered persian rugs with cherub imagery!!! What do I have to do to get a simple persian rug with cherub imagery uuuuugh.”

Watch the video above for more, including appearances by J.J. Abrams, Hilary Swank, Conan O’Brien, and Mindy Kaling.
