This baby shower is dark and full of terrors.
On Thursday’s episode of The Late Show With Seth Meyers, host Seth Meyers and Game of Thrones star Carice van Houten imagined what it would be like to have Melisandre attend a joyous party for two future parents.
“Clutch your child close to your breast, woman. For the night is dark and full of terrors,” Melisandre said when asked to a recite an inspirational quote about motherhood. “Pray that it’s a son so the Lord of Light can look down upon him with favor,” she added when the subject of the baby’s gender was broached. “And if it’s a girl, lock it away in a dark tower forever and hope it’s not consumed by grayscale.”
“You’re always saying you don’t have any female friends, and this is why,” Meyers told Melisandre during the party. “Maybe stop telling people the night is dark of full of terrors.”
“Yeah, but the night is dark and full of terrors. Everyone knows that,” replied Melisandre.
Wath the full sketch, which includes the best Gouda joke never heard on Game of Thrones. The hit HBO series returns in April.
