Adele is no stranger to pulling pranks on the unsuspecting public, but her Thursday appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show may easily have topped them all.
At DeGeneres’ prompting, someone posing as Adele’s assistant went into a Jamba Juice to tell the employees that Adele was coming in, but that she wanted to be treated like a normal person. However, DeGeneres was in Adele’s ear, ensuring that everything the singer said and did would make her appear halfway between a megalomaniac diva and a straight-up lunatic.
From asking for a large juice in a small cup to feigning ignorance of the concept of Jamba Juice in general — though “we have something similar in Britain; we call it Swishy Chug” — Adele was game for it all. Even when DeGeneres had Adele take scissors out of her purse, cut some wheatgrass, and put it in her mouth.
It’s a must-watch, and we’re pretty sure that Adele should somehow get an Emmy for it. Check it out above.
