Lana Del Rey’s “High by the Beach” was one of the best music videos of last year, and now the brooding pop star might be gunning for another spot on this year’s list with her extravagant new video for “Freak.” The clip for the Honeymoon track stars Father John Misty and runs about 11 minutes, but it’s easy to summarize: Misty takes acid, Lana appears to drink the Kool-Aid, and the two embark on some sort of dessert vision quest—not unlike the one that supposedly inspired the Father John Misty character—featuring the women from Lana’s previous video, “Music to Watch Boys to,” in another extended underwater fantasy sequence. This is your brain on Lana Del Rey.
