Will Ferrell charmed The Late Show viewers and a handful of adorable animals Sunday when he pretended to be an animal expert on the talk show.
The Zoolander 2 actor, dressed in khaki shorts and an animal-wrangler style vest, told host Stephen Colbert he thought the show could use an animal expert. “I think I could step in and fill the gap,” Ferrell said. “We brought some of the rarest and most endangered animals in the world.”
The comedian warned Colbert about the dangers associated with his guest animals before a tiny kitten was brought on stage. “This is Mulan. Mulan is short-spined Peruvian mongoose,” he said. “She looks so calm and cuddly, but she can be very aggressive. It will charge, so please no sudden movements.”
“That really looks like a kitty cat,” Colbert says. “Stephen, who’s wearing the vest?” Ferrell responds. The actor also called a hamster a “Mongolian bush tiger” and explained how it can grow to weigh over 600 pounds.
