Unless your name is Holly Holm, it’s unlikely you’ll take down Ronda Rousey. But for the sake of comedy, Beck Bennett tries and fails anyway.
Rousey, 28, has already proven she can take down an opponent in less than 20 seconds, and now the former UFC champion is out to prove she’s got comedic chops as seen in the newly released 30-second promos for her first-ever Saturday Night Live hosting gig.
SNL regular Bennett appears alongside the athlete, but unfortunately for him, he becomes her punching bag, metaphorically and physically.
Rousey hilariously takes jabs at his manhood, but Bennett doesn’t back down from trying to woo her romantically. “Ronda, I can tell you’re scared,” he jokes as he sneaks his arm around her shoulder. “Take your arm off me or I’ll rip it off,” the arm bar aficionado responds.
And Bennett hardly stood a chance when he challenged Rousey to a duel as amateur wrestler, Beck “The Wreck” Bennett. His head lock quickly turned into him getting flipped on the ground, as Rousey completed the move with a sassy hair flip.
This weekend, Rousey will make her SNL debut with musical guest Selena Gomez.
The athlete-turned-actress is expanding her resumé having made cameo appearances in such movies as Entourage, Furious 7 and The Expendables 3. Rousey will costar with SNL alum Tina Fey in the upcoming comedy Do Nothing Bitches.
In addition, Rousey will show her naked, body-painted butt for this year’sSports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition as well.
