Amy Schumer shut down a teen film critic on Monday after he shamed the comedian’s sex life in a joke that fell flat with many social media users, including the Trainwreck star.
Jackson Murphy, 17, who runs the website Lights-Camera-Jackson, posted a selfie on Twitter of him posing with Schumer at Sunday night’s Critics’ Choice Awards, along with a message that many found rude. “Spent the night with @amyschumer. Certainly not the first guy to write that,” he wrote to his 5,000 followers.
Schumer called him out on Twitter, saying “I get it. Cause I’m a whore? Glad I took a photo with you. Hi to your dad.”
Murphy deleted the tweet and apologized twice. “Thought you’d like the joke. I should leave the comedy to you! Thanks for the photo. Glad you won last night!” he wrote in one tweet. “I truly apologize for the tweet I posted earlier. I’m not a comedian and it wasn’t funny,” he said in another.
Schumer forgave him shortly afterward. “That’s really okay honey. I just remember thinking you and your dad were sweet and it was a bummer to read that,” she said.
