Here’s How to Join Emma Watson’s Feminist Book Club

2 minute read

Emma Watson’s feminist book club now has a name and is open to anyone who wants to join. The UN Women Goodwill ambassador announced the club will be called “Our Shared Shelf” and meetings will be conducted through a group on Goodreads.

To become a member, all you need to do is register for an account and join on the group’s page. More than 37,000 people have already signed up at this time, with well-known names such as Abby Wambach, Sophia Bush and Kate Voegele tweeting about their interest in the project.

So what’s first on the list? Watson revealed that she has chosen Gloria Steinem’s latest memoir, My Life on the Road, as the inaugural book.

The 25-year-old actress explained her inspiration for the club in an introductory message on the group page. “As part of my work with UN Women, I have started reading as many books and essays about equality as I can get my hands on,” she wrote. “There is so much amazing stuff out there! Funny, inspiring, sad, thought-provoking, empowering!”

Excuse us while we head over to Goodreads.
