There’s very little in Janelle Monáe’s new music video for “Yoga” that looks like actual yoga. But that’s besides the point if you sign up to take her class—when Janelle’s in charge, yoga pants aren’t the only optional item of clothing. What she’s talking about has little to do with flow and breathing, and when she hits the floor, she means the club, not a sweaty mat you rented for $3. For a preview of her private lessons, just take a look at her lyrics: “Baby bend over, let your booty do that yoga.” Clearly, Monáe’s on a mission to make your namaste a little nama-nasty.
