Selena Gomez and DJ-producer Zedd make beautiful music together — and no, that’s not a euphemism. The pop star and the EDM beatsmith are rumored to be dating since they hang out, like, all the time and snap cozy Instagrams; now, they’re aiming to make headlines with what they do in the studio.
Zedd’s futuristic synthesizers recall “Break Free,” his literally-out-of-this-world collaboration with Ariana Grande, but Gomez, who sounds like she recorded her part next to Sandra Bullock in the Gravity spaceship, keeps the track from becoming a lifeless carbon copy. Given Gomez’s habit of wearing her heart on her sleeve in her music, her fans — or maybe just fellow alien life form and ex, the Biebz — will probably study this song like tea leaves.
