Sometimes you learn something that prompts an uncontrollable reaction of anger, laughter or surprise. And sometimes that epiphany happens on live television, for all to GIF. Morning Joe co-host Mika Brzezinski had such a moment yesterday—and it’s still going viral on Facebook.
The co-hosts were discussing an incident that took place at a Chicago convention center this weekend, when an apparently deliberate release of noxious chemicals forced an evacuation of thousands of convention-goers. The convention, Midwest FurFest, is the second largest gathering of people who are interested, according to the website for Midwest Furry Fandom, Inc., in “facilitat[ing] education in anthropomorphic literature, art and performance.”

Many furries dress in animal costumes, and it was these images of people in fox, lion and bear suits that seems to have sent Brzezinski into a fit of giggles. She covers her face to hide it before fleeing from the set to regain composure.
Convention-goers were undeterred by the hiccup in their weekend plans. Organizers released a statement, according to the Chicago Tribune, that they planned to “give 110% to make sure that the fun, friendship, and good times of Midwest FurFest 2014 overshadow last night’s unfortunate incident.”
Co-host Willie Geist, to his credit, kept a straight face throughout the segment.
