Marital bliss hasn’t slowed down Kanye West one bit. The rapper and Professional Mr. Kim Kardashian took over a London club this weekend and reportedly treated listeners to not one, not two, not even a whole album’s worth, but around 20 as-yet-unreleased songs, likely from his forthcoming album.
Unless you were in attendance, you probably won’t be hearing the new material anytime soon — the venue had strict rules in place for cell-phone activity that have so far kept any guerrilla recordings off the Internet, according to a Kanye West fan forum.
That doesn’t mean clubgoers didn’t take to social media after, however. One listener who was in attendance tweeted that new songs were “hellish,” “dark” and “groundshaking,” which sounds a lot like the words used to describe the brooding minimalism of West’s last studio album, Yeezus. Perhaps he’s not done exorcising his demons just yet.
