Wabash College

Crawfordsville, INwww.wabash.edu
Founded in 1832, Wabash College remains one of a handful of all-male liberal arts colleges in the U.S. Its student body is small, with just under 900 people, and class sizes are as well, with three-fourths of them having fewer than 20 students. The workload can be tough, but the student-faculty ratio is relatively low. Wabash offers some two dozen majors and also has dual-degree arrangements with Columbia, Purdue and Washington University in St. Louis. Wabash students can take their pick of about 70 organizations -- how about the Brew Society, the Zombie Survival Club or the Paranormal Research Society? The average annual cost is about even with the national median, and 99% of attendees get student aid. In everything, though, students have to abide by what's called the gentleman's rule: "The student is expected to conduct himself at all times, both on and off campus, as a gentleman and a responsible citizen."
