Arizona State University-Tempe

Tempe, AZwww.asu.edu/
With five campuses in the Phoenix area and more than 500,000 alumni, Arizona State University is known for innovation. The school works to blur the boundaries that traditionally separate academic disciplines in search of a more integrated style of learning and accomplishment, and it's often included in round ups of school that are starting inventive programs that lead to a slightly higher-than-normal graduation rate. It offers more than 350 undergraduate academic programs, 250 study-abroad options and some 1,000 student organizations. Popular majors include business, social sciences, engineering and biological sciences. The Arizona State Sun Devils compete in the NCAA Division I Pac-12 Conference, where they are particularly admired for their skill in baseball, and students frequent the recently expanded fitness complex to pursue informal athletics. Graduate students study at the W. P. Carey School of Business, the Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law, the Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College, and the Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering. "A" Mountain, a slope near campus with a letter A on the side, is a part of many campus traditions, including the annual Lantern Walk.
