What was billed as an “Exotic Driving Experience” at Walt Disney World’s Speedway turned out to be anything but a fantasy ride.
A Lamborghini lost control and crashed into the park’s guardrail Sunday afternoon, killing a passenger and leaving the driver, 24, with minor injuries, the Orlando Sentinel reports.
Gary Terry, the 36-year-old deceased, was reportedly an operations manager at the track.
The Exotic Driving Experience allows people to pay anywhere from $99 to $439 to ride in a sports car. “How Fast can you go in a #Ferrari #Lamborghini or #Porsche?” reads a post on the ride’s Facebook page.
“On behalf of everyone in the organization, it is with a very heavy heart that we extend our deepest sympathies to those involved in today’s tragic accident in Orlando,” Petty Holdings, the attraction’s operator, said in a statement.
A Walt Disney World Resort spokesperson told the Sentinel that the park offers “deepest sympathies” to those involved in the crash.
