NASA says the Leonid [00:06] meteor shower is expected to peak around midnight [00:09] Tuesday and last until dawn Wednesday. If the sky is [00:12] clear and you're away from light pollution during the [00:14] peak time, NASA predicts you'll see about 15 meteors [00:17] an hour. This meteor shower gets its name from the [00:20] Leo constellation because the meteors radiate outward [00:23] from the vicinity of stars, representing the lion's mane, [00:26] according to Earth Sky. The meteors are really bits of [00:29] leftover debris, from the comet Temple Tuttle, which [00:32] comes through our solar system every 33 years. The [00:35] Leonids typically fill the sky every November, [00:38] sometimes bringing a meteor shower. Though we're [00:40] not expecting to see a full- blown shower this year, the [00:43] moon is in a perfect position to see the shower clearly.
