[ MUSIC ] And so, I think there's a balance that as a country we need to, we, we need to strike where we do need to. Hear the imperatives of competitive business more strongly than we sometimes do but at the same time there needs to be respect for the process and some limits. On subversion. You know, I'm not a constitutional lawyer so all I have is the Democratic Party's prejudice and no real knowledge on the subject of Citizens United. I don't, I mean, people on my side think it's a terrible decision. I don't know, I don't. Pretend to, to really be able to assess the constitutional merits. But I am kinda struck by the fact that if the basic idea is that corporations are citizens, so they have free speech rights.

In my civics book, corporations have citi, citizenship. Comes with obligations as well as privileges. And to our newly- minted corporate citizens, it seems to me that along with considering what the government can do to reduce their taxes, which is in a number of respects very important. That they might profitably also consider some of the areas in which they could step up. For the broader national interest. [ MUSIC ]
