## Transcript

I learned to knit when I was about five or six an aunt taught me. And also went to a convent school in the 60s and 70s and they were rather more concerned about girls learning to knit and sew than they were about teaching them the rudiments of physics and chemistry. Fiona Goble has turned a hobby into a bestseller. Her love of knitting had already manifested itself by her published books but what recently started out as a joke idea has ended up being taken very seriously. The idea for knit your own royal wedding actually came from my publishers and it really started as a joke in their office and someone said, well actually this might be able to work, so That's were it started from.

Initially they were only going to print a few 1000 copies. So it sold much more widely then we thought it would. If I can just grab William here. So all the clothes are removable from the doll. So, the book also includes like business suits for William and some morning suits as well so we're not completely sure what he's going to be dressed in. I kind of got little ornamentation from. And this is just like a little cheap, elastic power bracelet that forms the Queen's signature pearls. I took a bit of advice from my mom who's a real Royalist on what the Queen would be likely to wear. And she said you know, she often wears hats with a bow whereas Camilla likes a sort of a bit of an opportunity for a fager and apparently is quite often in Carl, the odds are that the queen's going to be dressed in bright pink.

So, I think royal blue is the second favorite. I had quite a lot of fun with Harry's hair. Being a redhead myself, I thought I could go a little bit overboard on that. This is a bit of a funny stitch. It's just like instead of one, winding your wool once around the needle, I've wound it a few times round, so I've got a Big long stitch there and then that's just folded over to give him a bit of a sort of a brush cut look. And I've tried to do things just to sort of capture the features. Like Harry's nestled in a sort of slightly paler yarn than everyone else. There are a little few extras going on for Kate's veil.

The little tiara things and the She's got a little blue engagement ring there. They're just little sew on gems that you can get in any craft and hobby shop. Reaction has been favorable from around the world. And she's no stranger to doing interviews, either. I've had calls from, Japan and Taiwan, and Australia, and so many different countries. And all over Europe and Canada, it seems. particularly, keen on the royal family. And also niching is such a big thing particularly, in America. A best selling book and a happy publisher means that Fiona is in demand. But how does she plan to top the Kate and William royal wedding?

Well, by the time the next royal wedding comes along, I'll be maybe niching a wife for Harry and maybe a couple of children for Will and Kate. So a lot more niching involved. [ BLANK_AUDIO ] [ SOUND ]
