## Transcript

In an attempt to garner more interest in the Colorado Symphony Orchestra, it will be performing a series of fundraising concerts entitled, Classically Cannabis. And yes, it's exactly what it sounds like. The Colorado Symphony, inviting you to bring your own weed. To their next concert. Cannabis friendly concerts. There'll be, first one is Sunday. They'll be playing Beethoven's 4 / 20 symphony. [ LAUGH ] Appropriately titled The High Note Series. The series of concerts, is sponsored by local businesses in the marijuana industry. And is billed as B- Y- O- C, or. Bring Your Own Cannabis. The executive director says, no one is trying to fool you here.

This is a gimmick, to bring a younger audience to a struggling Colorado classical music scene. Our goal is to bring in a younger audience, and a more diverse audience. And I would suggest that the patrons of the cannabis industry, are both younger and more diverse than the patrons of the symphony orchestra. Would this encourage you to go again if you were allowed to bring your own weed? It possibly would. Yes. Definitely. And the Colorado Symphony has a few other, not so classic events aimed at a younger and more diverse crowd i. e. Beethoven and Brews, a beer tasting event paired with the sounds of the great composer.

Hopefully this new approach is successful. According to the Denver Post the Colorado Symphony suffered a $ 1. 2 million cash deficit at the end of the 2011 fiscal year. Thanks for watching I'm Jamal Anders.
