We chose Hillary Clinton to be on this year's TIME 100 because she is the Secretary of State in the Obama administration, and that's a position that has even more importance since the president has have to focus so much on domestic policy and on the economy-- the responsibility for dealing with the rest of the world has really fallen on her shoulders. And in addition, she's an enormously popular political figure in her own right, and therefore, is not just a representative of the United States in the world, but also a source of inspiration in leadership domestically, as well.
