## Transcript

The Samsung NF310 Netbook nails all the basics-- which is really all you need to do with a netbook. Why can't anyone else get it right? Let's take a look. Things that I like. Resuming from Standby takes about 3 seconds. Wait for it. Wait for it. Great keyboard and trackpad. Look at the size of those Shift keys. Always too small on netbooks, the Shift keys on this netbook are great, and the trackpad works like a charm. Samsung rates the battery at a maximum of almost 9- 1 / 2 hours, which is kinda pushing it. But you can get 8 hours out of it pretty easily if you put your mind to it before needing to recharge.

And my favorite spec of all, full HD resolution screen. Most 10- inch netbooks have laughable resolutions. You can't even squeeze a whole webpage in there without excessive scrolling. Cons, there are a couple. It's not perfect. For a 10- inch netbook, it's a little clunky. It's almost 3 pounds, while 10- inch netbooks are 2- 1 / 2 pounds or less. And it's kinda thick. The battery makes it jut out. It's-- it's a little awkward. It's kinda like slow- dancing with a walrus. It's a little unwieldy at times. And the operating system is Windows 7 Starter, which is a-- just a pathetic operating system.

It's Windows 7, but it's scaled back, and they serve out functionality like you can't change the desktop wallpaper. You can't use an external monitor as a secondary display device. I mean, come on. How much money could that save? Just arbitrarily stripping out functions. All that aside, for $ 400, it is a great value in netbooks right now. There are very little compromises, and the Dual Core processor is plenty snappy. I would say right now, at this point in time, the Samsung NF310 is the netbook to beat. There. I said it. And you know what? Some people like slow- dancing with walruses. They are very affectionate creatures.
