## Transcript

The ex wife of an oil tycoon has deposited a divorce settlement check for almost one billion dollars after refusing to accept it earlier this week. Let's get the exact number, 974 million, 790 thousand. And three hundred seventeen dollars And seventy seven cents. You forgot that. Back in November an Oklahoma judge ordered Harold Hamm to pay Sue Ann Arnall nine hundred and ninety five point five million dollars, making this one of the largest divorce settlements in history. At the time NBC reported the judge ordered Hamm to pay Arnall. 322. 7 million dollars by the end of 2014. The remaining amount would then be paid in monthly installments of 7 million dollars.

But it sounds like Ham went above and beyond by writing that one check for almost the full amount. Earlier this week, it was reported Arnall was rejecting Hamm's massive check. Hamm's attorney told the Oklahoman Arnall was planning to appeal the divorce settlement decision to pursue a larger share of the couple's assets. On Tuesday, the judge refused to change his decision on the settlement, and Arnall asked the state's supreme court to review the ruling. But sometime between Tuesday and Thursday, Arnall had a change of heart. Hamm's attorney confirmed to CNBC she has deposited the check. On top of that, Arnall was also awarded $ 25 million in assets, which included three homes in Oklahoma and California.

Hamm is the chairman and CEO of Continental Resources, a drilling company located in Oklahoma.
