Officials still have no idea but now say the plane may have changed course midflight. We looked back at the recording and there is an indication, possible indication that the aircraft may have turned back. But the question is why? No distress calls of any kind were sent, and officials have not said whether the Boeing triple seven's, sophisticated computer systems automatically reported any problems. This does point to maybe something where at least the pilots had time to think about a strategy or a plan. But then again, once again, we come back to this plane. This is a triple seven, it's a very advanced plane. And the plane itself sends out messages. That scenario isn't entirely unheard of. In June of 2009, an Air France flight from Rio de Janeiro to Paris crashed after a series of pilot errors, with no indication of any catastrophic issues. Another concern is, who exactly was on the plane? Two passengers used stolen passports to buy their tickets, and officials say this should have set off red flags at the airport. But that's not necessarily an indication of foul play because illegal immigrants often use false or stolen travel documents, to enter western countries. The airline's manifest shows passengers hailed from 14 countries, three from the United States. One of this was this man, Phillip Wood from Texas. 239 people were on the plane.
