With both sides freshly angered over the kidnappings and killings of four teenagers. Airstrikes by the Israeli airforce on Gaza killed several Hamas militants. [ NOISE ] Hamas vowed retaliation for the strikes. Andadolu Agency reports 7 Hamas fighters died in the blast. Two militants were from another group we understand that 14 sites were targeted by the Israeli military. Israel's military says that it was going after rocket launching sites or warehouses. In a statement issued soon after the air strikes Hamas warned the quote, Zionist enemy will pay the price. Tension in the region has been incredibly difficult for officials to control, since three Israeli teens were kidnapped and killed.

Their bodies found last week. Only a day later, Palestinian teen, Muhammed Abukadir disappeared. The 16 year old's body found in a forest near Jerusalem, with evidence suggesting the teen was burned alive. Thousands of people carried Kadar's body through the streets of east Jerusalem. Wrapped in a Palestinian flag, many speculated from the start Kadeer's killing was revenge for the Israeli teens' deaths. Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu called Kadeer's father Monday. In promising murder suspects would be dealt with, Netanyahu said, the murder of your son is abhorrent and cannot be countenanced by any human being.

It's possible that Netanyahu made that promise with confessions already in hand. Police arrested six Israeli suspects Sunday. The Jerusalem post saying one confessed, HAARETZ reporting three admitted to killing Kadeer. While leaders outwardly urge the escalating tensions in the region, and Israel says defense forces on the Gaza border are maintaining defensive positions, some worry open conflict is near. And all it would really take is for one of those rockets coming over from Gaza to cause Israeli casualties. [ FOREIGN ] Besides the airstrikes by the Israeli air force, authorities announced 110 people were arrested overnight Sunday, for disrupting public order.
